According to G1 website, Brazil's Federal Supreme Court (STF) judges ruled that the country's former president Bolsonaro would be transferred to house arrest, as he violated previous judicial restrictions.
Messages on the G1 website stated that the judge "ruled on Monday to impose house arrest on former President Jair Bolsonaro," because "he did not comply with the prescribed security measures, posting content on his children's social media."
According to the court ruling cited by the website, Bolsonaro is prohibited from receiving visitors, except for close relatives and lawyers. He must wear an electronic ankle monitor, and all mobile devices in his home should be confiscated.
The new ruling was triggered by a recent rally of Bolsonaro supporters in Rio de Janeiro, during which his son, Senator Flávio Bolsonaro, connected with his father via a loudspeaker. Subsequently, a video was posted on his social media, in which the former president addressed the protesters: "This is for our freedom. We are together."
