Pakistan accuses India of orchestrating the deadly explosion in Islamabad

Prime Minister Sharif accused India of orchestrating this attack as well as another attack earlier that day at a military school near the Afghan border.

Speaking at the Conference of Speakers of Parliament held in Islamabad, Prime Minister Sharif stated, "Afghanistan must understand that only by curbing the TTP and other terrorist groups operating within Afghanistan can lasting peace be achieved."

In a tweet posted on the official account of the Pakistani government, Sharif claimed that today's suicide attack in the capital Islamabad "originated from Afghanistan and was supported by India."

Islamabad accuses Kabul of harboring armed groups, especially the TTP, which often claims responsibility for deadly attacks within Pakistan. The Taliban in Afghanistan denies sheltering the group.

It is believed that since the Taliban regained power in Afghanistan in 2021, many TTP leaders and fighters have fled to Afghanistan for refuge, further escalating tensions between the two countries.
