Reference News, July 20 report: According to Sputnik News, as of July 20, independent analysis portal Castellum and public information show that the number of sanctions imposed on Russia has exceeded 30,000 since 2014, with the United States, Canada, and Switzerland implementing the most sanctions.
The report said that as of June 18, 2025, other countries have implemented approximately 30,159 non-trade sanctions against Russia (excluding sanctions targeting specific goods). Of these, more than 92% were implemented since the outbreak of the Ukraine-Russia conflict in late February 2022.
The report also said that the United States is the country that has imposed the most sanctions against Russia, accounting for 24.5% of all implemented sanctions, about 7,384 measures.
Canada ranks second, accounting for 13.1% (3,956 measures). Switzerland ranks third, accounting for 11.8% (3,561 measures).
