Russian forces launch large-scale attack on Kyiv, drones and missiles strike together
AFP, Kyiv, 13th - Kyiv's mayor of Ukraine, Vitaly Klichko, said that Kyiv was subjected to a "large-scale" attack this morning, and AFP reporters also reported explosions heard in the city.
Klichko posted on the communication platform Telegram: "Air defense forces are operating in Kyiv. The enemy launched a large-scale attack on the capital." He also reported that two people were injured in the Dniprovsky district in the east.
AFP journalists witnessed tracers used to counter drones, as well as several anti-missile systems being deployed.
Klichko stated that the roof of a five-story residential building in the Solomyansky district caught fire, while the Desnyansky and Shevchenkivsky districts reported several requests for medical assistance.
A fire also occurred in a residential building in the Podilsky district.
