"Taiwan independence" forces, tremble! Foreign media have been shocked to discover that the mainland's "coastal ship connector" has started combat drills.
Recently, the "Maritime Awareness Platform" Theia, launched by the American company SynMax, released new images showing that China's three "Shuiqiao-class" general-purpose landing platform barges were sailed from the Pearl River Estuary to the South China Sea between January 11 and 15, 2026, and deployed at Nanshan Island for combat drills.
When mentioning "Shuiqiao-class", we may be confused, but when mentioning "the coastal ship connection godsend", everyone should understand. What foreigners refer to as "Shuiqiao-class" is actually the self-elevating long pontoon barge previously exposed. This barge has a long bridge on its hull, which can be connected to the ship and the shore through a cable-stayed bridge, while the hydraulic support legs at the bottom of the barge can fix the barge on the shore or beach, making it convenient for armored vehicles on amphibious ships to directly cross shallow water areas, mudflats, and beaches through this temporary pontoon bridge, reaching the hard shoreline directly.
Foreign media said that the ones captured this time are the second batch of three "coastal ship connectors": one with eight legs, 185 meters long; another with six legs, 128 meters long; and a third with four legs, 108 meters long. These three can be modularly assembled on site according to needs, and the longest can carry a temporary barge of 411 meters to support amphibious operations.
Previously, the first batch of "coastal ship connectors" had already conducted amphibious exercises near Zhanjiang in February 2025. The application scenarios of this equipment are very clear: island landing operations. And the recent possible "island landing operation scenario" of the People's Liberation Army is the operation to liberate Taiwan. The second batch of three "coastal ship connectors" could be quickly put into combat drills shortly after completion of construction, indicating the urgent demand for this equipment within the military.
Believe that the "Taiwan independence" forces inside the island must feel terrified seeing such an island landing godsend being produced in large numbers. When we have enough of these island landing devices, the resistance encountered when solving the Taiwan issue will be less, and the speed of liberating Taiwan will be faster.
