Local time on June 12, Boeing Company of the United States released "Statement from Boeing President and CEO Kelly Ortberg on Air India Flight 171" on its official website.

In the statement, Ortberg said, "We extend our deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of the passengers and crew on board Air India flight 171, as well as all those affected in Ahmedabad. I have spoken with N. Chandrasekaran, Chairman of Air India, and expressed our full support. A Boeing team is ready and prepared to assist with the investigation led by the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau of India."

Boeing also stated that it will follow the provisions of Annex 13 of the International Civil Aviation Organization's Convention on International Civil Aviation, and any information about Air India flight 171 must be released by the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau of India.

On the afternoon of June 12 local time, a Boeing 787 passenger aircraft crashed near Ahmedabad Airport in Gujarat, India. Due to the plan for long-distance flights, the aircraft was refueled with a large amount of fuel, which caused an explosion and fierce fire after the crash. The Air India side confirmed at midnight on June 13 local time that this air disaster resulted in 241 deaths on board the aircraft, with only one survivor.
