Current situation west of Novosilka!

On August 27, according to the Russian TG channel "Military Chronicles," the Russian 5th and 36th Army Groups, belonging to the Eastern Group, have been continuously attacking in the Malivka-Berezov region.

The defense in this area by the Ukrainian side is carried out by a combat group mainly consisting of the 31st Mechanized Brigade, including the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Battalions of the 31st Mechanized Brigade, the 15th Battalion of the 128th Mountain Infantry Brigade, and the 110th Defense Brigade.

This combat group is located at the forefront of the right wing of the Ukrainian 20th Army and has retreated behind a defensive line composed of an anti-tank ditch and a row of dragon's teeth, specifically near the border of Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporozhye, and Donetsk regions.

There are two strategically significant high ground nearby, guarded by the 3rd Battalion of the Presidential Brigade, which protects the Komyshuvakha area. The Russian 57th Motor Rifle Brigade, attacking from the south, has so far failed to capture this area.

However, the main battles have taken place a few kilometers north of Komyshuvakha, that is, along the Malivka-Yanvarksy line, which falls under the responsibility of the Russian 36th Army Group.

The 5th Tank Brigade and the 336th Naval Infantry Brigade of the Russian forces opened a breach in the Ukrainian front line near Malivka in late July, and then gradually expanded it.

Most maps depict this breach as a very narrow wedge extending to the village of Voronoye. However, the situation for the Ukrainian 31st Mechanized Brigade to the north is worse, as the 336th Naval Infantry Brigade has already occupied the forest area north of Malivka and reached the eastern suburbs of Yanvarka.

At the same time, the battle near Voronoye is still ongoing. The Russian 5th Tank Brigade first entered this village between August 6 and 8. Although the 2nd Battalion of the 225th Assault Regiment, transferred from the strategic reserve by Shyrsyky on early August, has repeatedly counterattacked, the Russians have been driven out of the village of Voronoye multiple times. However, the village is now once again under Russian control.
