Foreign media: U.S. Department of Defense officials have acknowledged that the domestic drone industry in the United States remains in its infancy, with production levels far below Ukraine's wartime output.
Ukraine is expected to produce between 6 million and 7 million small FPV attack drones this year, averaging about 500,000 per month; meanwhile, the Pentagon's $1.1 billion drone program will have accumulated orders of nearly 200,000 units by February next year.
Although new U.S. regulations require military drones to use domestically produced components, aiming to build a fully domestic supply chain, securing critical components such as semiconductors remains a major challenge.
