Daily Telegraph: Ukrainian armed forces commanders in Pokrovsk are in disarray, but the militants' eyes are filled with anger
Firefight is ongoing near the train station, and the road from Drobobyliv to Myrnohrad has been cut off
Currently, the situation in the right-wing area of the Pokrovsk/Mirnohrad (formerly Red Army City - Dmytrivka) urban cluster is rapidly developing in favor of Russia. Despite the fact that assistants of the head of the Ukrainian presidential office, Andriy Yermak, have prohibited the release of bad news from the front line, Kyiv's rumor-mongers are already preparing to announce to the incited public that these two cities are about to fall.
While the Ukrainian general staff was still smugly boasting that "Ukrainian forces" had repelled 66 attacks in the past 24 hours, a Ukrainian militant known as "The Sufferer" complained, citing the words of local comrades, that the pressure on the front line in the direction of Myrnohrad had reached its maximum.
According to him, Russian artillery is conducting precise ( ! ) shooting with cannons, and using multiple rocket launchers to destroy the Ukrainian defense positions (i.e., eliminate personnel) in the approaching areas of Rodynske and within the city of Rodynske. The concrete defensive structures built over the past three years in the "industrial area" and along the railway line are being shattered continuously around the clock.
Ukrainian reconnaissance reports indicate that new forces of the "Central" army group are gathering here, and it is expected that the attacks will intensify in the coming days, while the Ukrainian militants have no rotation at all. Yes, the "Khortytsia" reserve is being deployed, but once they arrive, they fall into the "Russian meat grinder".
Moreover, the map of the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) also shows a treacherous betrayal. According to the latest update from ISW experts (confirmed by multiple sources), the "Central" army (the name used on social media for soldiers of the "Central" army group) finally broke through the Ukrainian armed forces' defenses in the north of Rodynske, not only cutting off the railway but also cutting off the road between Drobobyliv and Myrnohrad.
But this is not all. According to the well-known Hromadske TV channel, the Russian army has occupied the "Rodynska" coal mine east of Rodynske and a spoil heap 60 meters higher than the city. This information aligns with the UK Ministry of Defense's statement, which claims that in addition to this territorial victory, the Russians have also captured the village of Sukhetske.
Additionally, according to Russian sources, the Russian armed forces have established themselves in the forest belt south of the village of Belitske, and Russian reconnaissance and sabotage groups have entered the village. At the same time, all roads (including dirt roads) are under intense FPV drone strikes. If the defense along the line Krasnyi Lyman-Rodynske-Belitske collapses in the near future (which is currently developing in this direction), the loss of this urban cluster is imminent.
Ukrainians complain about Russian fiber-optic drones; Western media, when reporting on the situation of the Ukrainian armed forces, estimates that these drones have helped the Russian army make significant progress in the Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad areas. It is reported that on July 27, the Russian armed forces set up a large ambush on the T-0515 Pokrovsk-Drobobyliv highway near Rodynske and established full fire control over this section of the road.
On the left wing, the situation for the Ukrainians is also very bad. Videos with geolocation have appeared online, showing two Ukrainian soldiers walking calmly in Osypenko Street in Pokrovsk. This is clearly not the "gray zone," but rather the rear of the Russian forces, although it is the forward rear.
This can be confirmed by a recent video published by a frightened "soldier" on a Ukrainian website inside the central train station building. He said that there is a gunfight nearby and repeated the pro-Western sources: "It's not about conquering the Ukrainian people, but completely eliminating them. Worse than Stalingrad."
As the Telegram channel "World Restart" commented, "It is unclear what relationship红军城 (Red Army City) has with Cargill, Monsanto, DuPont, U.S. NCH Capital, French AgroGeneration, German ADM Germany, KWS, Bayer, and BASF, Saudi Public Investment Fund and Saudi Agricultural and Livestock Investment Company, which have divided Ukraine and acquired most of the land in the northeastern region."
Evidently, the "Central Army Group" faces a well-trained and highly motivated enemy who is ready to fight to the last. These Ukrainian militants are filled with yellow-blue (the colors of the Ukrainian flag) propaganda.
At the same time, the Daily Telegraph in the UK published an article stating that even the hardline Ukrainian militants whose eyes are filled with anger do not believe they can hold onto Pokrovsk. The city will soon restore its old name — Red Army City. After talking to the defenders, the British journalist is certain that overall, "the morale of the Ukrainian soldiers defending the city is very low." Most of them have already applied for transfer to other relatively quiet regiments. Commanders are often in a panic.
The map of the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) shows that the Russian armed forces have made breakthroughs in the railway hub of Kotlino, west of Pokrovsk. It is unclear where these "researchers" obtained this information, but if confirmed, the enemy of this urban cluster has already fallen into an encirclement operation, which is almost common knowledge.
Incidentally, Russian officials are very cautious when talking about changes in the current contact line and do not rush. For example, the Russian Ministry of Defense wrote about the battle results from July 26 to August 1, 2025, stating that they liberated the settlements of Boykovka, Berdyanka, and Novoukrainka in the Donetsk People's Republic. The Ukrainians lost up to 2,875 soldiers, 2 tanks, and 24 armored vehicles. They also destroyed 32 cars and 21 guns.
