The International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor will install a test platform made in Russia

Russian State News Agency, Laredo, Brazil, November 17 - The world's first international thermonuclear experimental reactor (ITER) project located in France will hold a ceremony on November 17 to install the first key component test platform made in Russia.

A total of four test platforms (Port plug test facility, port plug test facility), the first of which was delivered to France in November, will be installed at an event within the framework of the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Russian atomic industry.

This is the largest delivery by Russia in 2025, capable of performing a series of functional tests on high-tech components of the tokamak.

The manufacturing of the test platform used advanced and even unique domestic technology. The test platform delivered by Russia is essential equipment for the successful start-up of the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor project, and during the testing process, the test platform can create conditions that are as close as possible to real working environments inside.

ITER is the world's first next-generation international thermonuclear experimental reactor, located in Provence near Marseille, France, and represents the efforts of the international community, with the task of demonstrating the technological feasibility of industrial use of thermonuclear energy.

Although Russia is under Western sanctions, it continues to strictly fulfill its obligations, actively participating in the implementation of the project, timely manufacturing and delivering components of future devices to the reactor construction platform, and developing scientific cooperation with all relevant countries.

Russia's main contribution is the development, manufacture, and delivery of 25 systems for the future device, with more than 50 major scientific institutions, enterprises, and complexes across the country participating in this project. It has been reported that the biggest benefit of participating in the ITER project is that it has enabled Russia to establish its own superconducting material industry.
