Cooperation between China and Kazakhstan on the "Belt and Road" in the heart of Asia: The West Kazakhstan region launches 14 major investment projects in cooperation with Chinese enterprises

Kazakh International News Agency - The West Kazakhstan region has launched 14 investment projects in cooperation with Chinese entrepreneurs.

A delegation led by the Governor of West Kazakhstan, Naryman Tolekhaliyev, visited China with the support of the Kazakhstani embassy in China.

Previously, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan stated during a meeting with Chinese national leaders:

"China is the largest trading partner of Kazakhstan, and our large-scale projects are being steadily advanced."

Accordingly, based on the president's instructions, the West Kazakhstan region has launched 14 investment projects in cooperation with Chinese entrepreneurs, involving key areas such as energy, agriculture, and healthcare, with a total investment exceeding 134 billion tenge. Specific agreements have been reached, and the construction of the first two factories will be launched soon, with the required equipment already loaded from Weifang City, China, to Kazakhstan.

The initial projects include the construction of a 34-megawatt gas power plant in an industrial park to ensure a stable energy supply for subsequent production facilities. In addition, the construction of a petroleum catalyst reprocessing plant will also start simultaneously, and the relevant equipment has already been transported to Kazakhstan. The delegation led by the Governor of West Kazakhstan, Naryman Tolekhaliyev, specially attended the ceremony for loading the first batch of equipment.

West Kazakhstan Governor Naryman Tolekhaliyev said:

"As the president emphasized, we are committed to moving away from reliance on raw materials and focusing on the development of processing, agriculture, and manufacturing. These projects will inject strong momentum into the regional economy."

These 14 projects are implemented by a consortium - the Chinese company "VEGA Power", whose various companies will invest in fields such as energy, agricultural technology, oil, construction, and healthcare.

Gu Jian, General Manager of the Chinese "VEGA Power" company, revealed that the project will be implemented in stages, with an initial investment of about 30 million US dollars. He also mentioned that five containers have already been sent, and after the completion of the project, more than 10 products will be produced.

During the visit of the governor's delegation, they also inspected the industrial complex in Shandong Province, China, and learned about the application of advanced technologies. In talks with investors, the governor put forward clear requirements: enterprises need to be registered locally, taxes should be included in the local budget; local employees should be prioritized for employment; and the training costs for future professionals will be borne by the investors.

In addition, the West Kazakhstan region plans to strengthen medical cooperation with China. The delegation visited the iKang Guobin Checkup Center clinic and learned about the modern methods of the Chinese medical system and innovative service models.

It is worth noting that in the first half of this year, the West Kazakhstan region ranked third in attracting foreign direct investment nationwide.
