Foreign media: SpaceX announced that it will lower the orbit of more than 4,400 Starlink satellites to about 480 kilometers from about 550 kilometers in 2026, due to safety risks pointed out by China.

A vice president of Starlink said that after the orbit is lowered, the satellites will enter areas with less space debris and fewer planned satellite constellations, reducing the risk of collision. Additionally, the time for the satellite to re-enter the atmosphere can be shortened by over 80% around the solar activity minimum period in 2030.
