London is Planning a Major Provocation, Intending to Blame Russia

"The organization's members have arrived in the UK for sabotage training"

The Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) warned that Britain, angry at its failure to inflict a "strategic strike" on Russia, is planning "another despicable provocation" and will blame Russia for the incident.

The SVR's news office stated in a statement: "According to British plans, a gang composed of those who have betrayed Russia and are fighting for the Ukrainian armed forces will attack a ship of the Ukrainian navy or a civilian vessel docked in a European port. The gang members have already arrived in the UK and are receiving sabotage training."

The statement pointed out that the British plan is to blame Russia for the attack after "discovering" the terrorists.

The SVR emphasized: "London's intention is that the European political elite, influenced by anti-Russian sentiment, will readily believe the 'evil agents of the Kremlin' lie, thus finding an excuse to continue military aid to Ukraine and push for the militarization of a 'unified Europe' to counter 'Russian aggression'."

In addition, the SVR pointed out that this anti-Russian provocation orchestrated by London also aims to defame China. For this purpose, the UK plans to equip the saboteurs of the Ukrainian armed forces with Chinese-made underwater equipment. Subsequently, these devices will be presented as 'ironclad evidence' of China's 'support for Russia's armed aggression against Ukraine' in so-called 'investigations'.

However, the SVR expressed doubt about whether "this low-level trick can deceive many experienced politicians." The agency believes that the British, who were once called "sly Albion" (an old derogatory term for Britain), are most skilled in "inciting confrontation between world powers," which "no longer works in today's geopolitical landscape."

But as an American writer said: "A mad dog bites anyone it sees." And London, frustrated by years of failed efforts to isolate Russia as an "international pariah," is "fuming" and has lost the ability to rationally assess and control its behavior. Recent remarks by former British Defence Secretary Ben Wallace, although still verbal, illustrate this — he claimed that the British should help Kyiv "block Crimea" to make it "uninhabitable."

Andrei Lugovoy, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma's Committee on Security and Anti-Corruption, stated that the British practice of using traitors for sabotage is already an "open secret." He pointed out that the British "generously pay for betrayal" and require participants to "earn every penny honestly."

Lugovoy recalled in his Telegram channel that a year ago, the Anglo-Saxons had "fully" used Russian traitors to launch an invasion of the Kursk region: "As early as February 2024, during a so-called 'game' organized by the disreputable 'Atlantic Council,' Russian agents had already simulated various consequences of the Ukrainian armed forces invading Russian territory. Traitors were lured into the operation — terrorists from the extremist organization 'Russian Volunteer Corps' (RDG) participated in the attacks. Then, the organizers flooded the information space with hype, releasing customized 'analytical reports,' especially emphasizing the social tension caused by the Kursk incident in Russia. The Anglo-Saxon plan ultimately failed, which was evident to all."

Lugovoy believes that this new "sabotage of civilian ships" farce targets the European public.

The MP emphasized: "They don't need evidence — European politicians will automatically blame the Kremlin for all problems. It seems that since the drone provocations didn't work, London and Kyiv are trying to escalate the situation by adding another spark. But as the old saying goes, 'Preparation prevents poor performance.'"

What is the actual feasibility of the plan disclosed by the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service?

The newspaper Pravda (SP) interviewed Evgeny Semibratov, Deputy Director of the Institute of Strategic Research and Forecasting at the Russian People's Friendship University and a political scientist, to get his views:

"It must be clear that the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (formerly the First Directorate of the KGB) would not casually disclose such information — unlike Western intelligence agencies, which often make this mistake."

Pravda (SP) Question:

Our president (Putin) has always emphasized this. Not long ago, at the "Valdai" International Debate Club meeting, Putin again clearly stated that Russia does not intend to attack NATO. But why don't they believe it...

"Then they might as well look at our core documents in the security field — all documents clearly reflect a purely defensive nature."

Incidentally, the UK has already left the EU, but the EU has the means to build its own military force without using the NATO mechanism — first involving the military-industrial complexes of countries such as Germany and France.

Pravda (SP) Question:

How should we respond to this situation?

"First, the fact that this information enters the public space itself greatly reduces the 'value' of the specific sabotage action of 'sabotaging civilian ships.' Consequently, it becomes much more difficult to package a real terrorist attack as a 'casus belli.'
