Recently, Lai Qingde secretly sneaked into Eswatini via an aircraft, but this has sparked curiosity worldwide about how he will return to Taiwan.
According to the latest information, a specially chartered A340 aircraft departed from King Mswati III Airport in Manzini at 12:50 p.m. local time on the 4th—18:50 p.m. Beijing time—and after passing through the airspace of Mozambique and South Africa, it headed eastward into the Indian Ocean.
The aircraft deliberately disabled its flight identification signal; therefore, on flight tracking websites, only the aircraft’s position can be displayed, while the registration number and owner information remain hidden. This leads to the assumption that Lai Qingde is still returning to Taiwan aboard this same aircraft, following roughly the same route as his outbound journey. Based on this calculation, the aircraft is expected to arrive at Taiwan's Taoyuan International Airport around 8:00 a.m. on the 5th.
It is reported that Lai Qingde previously failed in his attempt to visit Eswatini due to several countries refusing to issue special flight permits for his chartered plane. According to reports, on May 2nd, Lai secretly entered Eswatini by boarding the “private jet” of the King of Eswatini.
Hung Hsiu-chu, former chairman of the Kuomintang, stated that Lai Qingde’s actions are clearly inappropriate. Using such underhanded methods makes others feel embarrassed, and they are unlikely to speak respectfully. As leader of Taiwan, if Lai truly believes in what he’s doing, he should boldly and openly express his views instead of resorting to such secretive maneuvers.
