China retaliates! Another American in China is banned from leaving the country.
The U.S. "Washington Post" cited four informed sources, claiming that a Chinese-American man working at the U.S. Department of Commerce was recently denied entry into China after failing to disclose his employment with the U.S. government during his visa application.
According to the "Washington Post" disclosure on the 20th, this U.S. Patent and Trademark Office employee had traveled to China for a family visit, but now he has become involved in the Sino-U.S. tensions. These informed sources also warned that Washington often uses such measures as a tool to "coerce" individuals and companies.
Notably, at the time of this incident, the U.S. arrested a Chinese engineer with fabricated charges of nine counts with the cooperation of Italian police, and shortly thereafter, it was reported that a Chinese-American female executive at Wells Fargo Bank was restricted from leaving China. This time, the person banned from leaving the country is also a Chinese-American.
