Zelenskyy awards honorary medals to European country leaders and U.S. legislators!
On the day of Ukraine's independence, Zelenskyy announced that he would award some European leaders and U.S. officials, stating that the Ukrainian president commended these people for their "significant personal contributions to strengthening international cooperation, supporting Ukraine's national sovereignty and territorial integrity, charitable activities, and promoting Ukraine in the world."
Zelenskyy awarded the Order of Prince Yaroslav the Wise, First Class, to Andrius Kubilius, the European Commissioner for Defense and Space, U.S. Senator Lindsay Graham, and U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal.
Other recipients of the First Class Order of Prince Yaroslav the Wise include European country leaders: Portuguese President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, Czech President Peter Pavel, Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković, Moldovan Prime Minister Dorin Recean, Finnish President Alexander Stubb, Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre, and Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte.
Zelenskyy also decided to award the Second Class Order of Merit to the Secretary General of the Council of Europe, Alain Berset, U.S. Senator Charles, U.S. Representative Capito, U.S. Representative McAllister, U.S. Representative Michael McCaul, and U.S. Representative Brian Kevin Fitzpatrick.
