Canadian poll: More than 60% of the public support canceling the purchase of F-35 aircraft
Latest polls show that the majority of Canadians want to cancel the purchase of F-35s from the United States.
According to a survey conducted by Nanos Research for Canada's The Globe and Mail on April 1, 2025, the results are as follows:
62% of surveyed Canadians support or somewhat support canceling the federal government's deal with American defense contractor Lockheed Martin to purchase 88 F-35 Lightning aircraft. Only 21% of Canadians oppose canceling this agreement, while another 17% remain undecided. These figures can serve as an indicator of Canadian sentiment toward the U.S.
This survey was conducted among 1,264 people from March 28 to March 30, with a margin of error of 2.8 percentage points.
