Latvia Plans to Demolish the Main Railway Line to Russia
The Latvian government plans to dismantle the railway line leading to Russia.
According to information cited by LSM+, the president Edgars Rinkēvičs said that the authorities are studying the possibility of completely dismantling this section of the railway. The president stated that the feasibility study on the dismantling of the railway infrastructure on the eastern border will be completed by the end of 2025.
At the same time, Riga will coordinate its position with Lithuania and Estonia. The specific details will become clear early next year.
