Trump said Iran is left with only one warship, US and Israel attack Iran. Former CIA analyst: The US will have to pay billions in compensation to Iran
US President Trump said that the US air strikes could have left Iran with only one warship.
Trump told Fox News, "The Iranian fleet has been completely eliminated. As far as we know, the Iranian fleet is gone. They may have only one warship left. We are searching for it. It won't be around for long."
Other statements by Trump:
The US is "very closely watching" Iranians in the US.
Trump told Fox News reporter Brian Kilmead, "In many ways, we need to be a little careful. There are also many good people among them. That's the problem. There are many good people among them, but we are very, very closely watching them."
The UK Prime Minister's Office said that UK Typhoon jets began patrolling airspace over Bahrain on Friday.
According to Sky News, quoting a government spokesperson, "Tonight, British aircraft conducted their first combat takeoff mission to defend Bahrain. 'Typhoon' jets patrolled the skies, searching for Iranian drones heading towards Bahrain."
Previously, due to the escalation of the Iranian situation, the UK had deployed four additional 'Typhoon' jets to its base in Qatar.
Former CIA analyst Larry Johnson told Russian State News Agency that the compensation could also come in the form of the US lifting all sanctions.
Iran's Supreme Leader Mojtaba Hashemi earlier said that Iran expects financial compensation from the US and Israel for the losses caused during the conflict.
Johnson said that Iran is currently applying heavy pressure on the US by blocking the Strait of Hormuz.
He warned that serious economic impacts are either already or will soon cause shocks to the US and the world:
Disruption of oil, liquefied natural gas, and urea/nitrogen fertilizer supplies
Stock markets fell nearly 4,000 points in the past week and a half
Global economic recession
Rising prices of fuel, air travel, and goods
Leading to a decline in global demand, which could trigger stagflation and potential humanitarian crises
