Russians rush to buy apartments in Minsk: one out of every 10 property transactions involves a Russian citizen
The number of property purchases by Russian citizens in the capital of Belarus has significantly increased. In March, approximately 10% of apartment buyers in Minsk were Russians.
According to data from the Minsk City State Registration and Cadastre Department, Russians completed 126 housing transactions within a single month.
Based on the database of the Belarusian State Cadastre Agency, a total of 1,284 transactions were registered across the capital city of Belarus in March.
Analysts have described this surge to 10% as a stable trend rather than a temporary fluctuation.
Professional real estate platforms in Belarus, Realt.by and Onliner, have also confirmed these figures.
A few years ago, Russians accounted for only about 0.67% of the market. By early 2026, foreign buyers typically made up no more than 3%–4% of transactions.
But this spring, the situation has changed... What caused this shift?
