Nikkei News: Vietnam's GDP grew 7.96% from April to June, with a surge in exports to the US at the last minute

Nikkei News July 5: The General Statistics Office of Vietnam announced on July 5 that the actual gross domestic product (GDP) of Vietnam increased by 7.96% year-on-year from April to June. In addition to an increase in exports to the US, the number of foreign visitors to Vietnam also increased, and domestic demand also expanded.

Due to expectations that the Trump administration would impose reciprocal tariffs, the last-minute surge in exports may have already captured demand for the second half of the year. Vietnam will be among the first countries in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) to release its GDP figures.
