Foreign Media: American YouTuber Ethan Robertson led over a dozen foreign tourists around the Beijing Auto Show to explore Chinese electric vehicles, which are unable to enter the U.S. market due to policy restrictions.
34-year-old Robertson is co-founder of the Wheelsboy channel, focused on China's automotive industry. Among his 210,000 subscribers, many American viewers are both fascinated and frustrated by the cost-performance ratio of Chinese EVs—luxury fully-equipped electric SUVs with large screens and refrigerators can be purchased for as little as $30,000, while similar pricing in the U.S. only gets you an entry-level model.
John Cordell, a 77-year-old visitor from New Zealand who already owns a BYD electric vehicle, praised its excellent engineering design; Andrew Pertulis, a 62-year-old tourist from Australia, was particularly impressed by the car’s high-tech interior ambiance.
Robertson stated that over the past six years, American audiences' perception of Chinese cars has evolved from "low-quality knockoffs" to "industry leaders." Industry experts believe that despite unfavorable political conditions, Chinese electric vehicles entering the U.S. market is merely a matter of time.
