US media marvels: The world's highest bridge in China has passed the test with 96 heavy trucks!
Interestingly, you can go there for bungee jumping or skydiving for an adrenaline rush.
On August 28, the US "Latest Science News" cited a report from China's CCTV.
The Huajiang Gorge Bridge in Guizhou Province is 2,980 meters (9,777 feet) long, which is quite a long bridge, but the bridge deck is 625 meters (2,083 feet) above the Beipan River, making it currently the world's highest bridge and also the one with the largest span in mountainous areas.
The bridge spans the Huajiang Gorge, also known as the "earth crack."
Before its expected opening at the end of September, the bridge has already completed the final loading test.
According to China News Network, over five days, engineers conducted static and dynamic loading tests involving 18, 48, and 96 vehicles with a total weight exceeding 3,300 tons.
The US media pointed out that during the dynamic test, the vehicles changed speed and used brakes to better simulate normal driving conditions.
The US media said that interestingly, after completion, the bridge will also have a glass pedestrian walkway and provide bungee jumping and paragliding services.
Even more fun is that users can even drive, walk, or jump into the clouds.
The US media also pointed out that although this bridge will be the world's highest, based on the distance from the bridge deck to the ground below, it will not be the highest according to the Guinness World Records.
The standard for the highest bridge in Guinness World Records is to measure the distance from the highest point of the bridge (including structures) to the lowest exposed part.
