Under Secretary of State: No military solution to the Ukraine-Russia war but a peaceful prospect still exists

American Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated in an interview with Fox News that the war in Ukraine has no military solution.

Rubio pointed out that neither Russia nor Ukraine can achieve their respective goals on the battlefield:

"Putin cannot completely occupy Ukraine, and Kiev cannot completely push Russian troops back to the 2014 border line."

However, he also said that this is the first time in three years that there has been a real prospect of peace.

"We are closer than ever to understanding the conditions required for both sides to achieve a ceasefire. But the problem is - their positions are still far apart."
