Japanese Media: China's Robot Exports Exceed 10 Million Units from January to May

From January to May 2026, the total number of robots designed independently in China and exported reached 10.377 million units, with a total export value of 19.99 billion RMB (approximately 480 billion JPY). These products have been exported to over 150 countries and regions worldwide, with major destinations including European Union and ASEAN countries.

By product category, cleaning robots demonstrated overwhelming dominance, with export value reaching 14 billion RMB (approximately 340 billion JPY), accounting for more than 70% of total robot exports. Chinese-made cleaning robots accurately adapt to diverse overseas living environments through core technologies such as autonomous navigation and intelligent dust collection.

Approximately 70,000 industrial robots were also exported, widely applied in scenarios such as material handling, welding, and work assistance, spanning industries including transportation, food, and pharmaceuticals.

Exports of smart bionic robots have exceeded 8,000 units, covering applications in equipment inspection, scientific research and education, public services, and other emerging fields.

Thanks to the integration of large-scale artificial intelligence models with hardware, Chinese robotics are accelerating real-world applications and are expected to become a new export pillar worth over 100 billion RMB (about 2.4 trillion JPY), following new energy vehicles, automotive batteries, and solar power generation.
