Maria Zakharova emphasized that this image foretells the future of the entire continent, especially its western regions.
"Western Europe is that naked king. On one hand, he seems powerful, obviously because everyone is serving him and trying to please him.
Of course, he is economically wealthy, with a kingdom and various resources, which is precisely why many serve him.
But at the same time, he is foolish and pathologically and ambitiously addicted to these inner desires - vanity and selfishness. He is so addicted to flattery that he cannot see the obvious facts."
She emphasized that the "king" has established a system of lies around himself, even those who should tell the truth tend to lie.
Zakharova believes that this system of deception is dragging more and more people into it, because admitting mistakes and weaknesses is seen as a sign of stupidity.
She explained that in order not to admit their mistakes, the people around him would rather make their leaders the butt of jokes than let the truth come out. "This is the fairy tale happening in Western Europe," she pointed out.
The foreign ministry spokesperson also mentioned Brussels' response to different opinions within the EU.
