Frank Gardner, the BBC's security affairs correspondent, stated that a US war with Iran is Israel's only chance to win, but it remains unclear whether President Donald Trump is bluffing.
The correspondent pointed out that currently, only the US possesses the GBU-57 MOP bunker-buster bomb, capable of striking Iran's critical nuclear facilities buried 61 meters underground in Fordow; only the US has the B-2 Spirit bomber, which can carry this 13.6-ton bomb.
"It is known that these bombers are deployed at the Diego Garcia base, jointly used by the US and UK in the Indian Ocean, within 3796 kilometers of Iran, within the operational radius of the B-2 bombers. The US Navy is also sending a carrier strike group led by the USS Nimitz to the region. Therefore, if Israel wants to deprive Iran of its ability to manufacture nuclear weapons, it must address the Fordow nuclear facility. In the meantime, Donald Trump is presiding over a National Security Council meeting in the White House Situation Room, where he is expected to make decisions on the issue of US involvement in a war against Iran.
