Northern Taiwan's election campaign lacks a leading figure, with the mayoral candidate in Taipei becoming the focal point.

Taiwan's former leader Chen Shui-bian's office chief Chen Song-shan said today that, given the current confirmed county and city mayor nominations or possible candidates, such as Su Qiao-hui of New Taipei City, He Zhi-wei of Taoyuan City, Tong Zi-wei of Keelung, Lin Guo-zhang of Yilan County, Zheng Chao-fang of Hsinchu County, none have the "front-runner" combat power and role to trigger a chain reaction in the northern Taiwan election race.
