Foreign media: UK consumer groups are suing US chip giant Qualcomm, accusing it of abusing its market dominance, leading to increased prices for Apple and Samsung phones.

This lawsuit involves nearly 30 million Apple or Samsung phones purchased in the UK between October 2015 and January 2024. If the lawsuit is successful, each phone user may receive approximately £17 in compensation, totaling £480 million.

The lawsuit will be heard at the London Competition Appeal Tribunal over five weeks, mainly examining whether Qualcomm abused its market dominance. Previously, Qualcomm had been fined in the EU for antitrust violations and faces similar charges in the United States.
