Sputnik Moscow, March 7 - U.S. President Donald Trump said that his efforts in resolving the Ukraine conflict are helping Europe.

Trump said at the "Shield of the Americas" summit: "In fact, it doesn't affect us much because we are separated by the ocean. I am doing this to help Europe."

Ukrainian officials said that Russia launched a new wave of drone and missile attacks on Ukraine between Friday, March 6, and Saturday, March 7, with at least seven deaths in Kharkiv (an eastern Ukrainian city), including two children.

Ukrainian President Zelenskyy stated that Russia fired 480 drones and 29 missiles, targeting Ukraine's energy sector and railway infrastructure. He said on Telegram: "Our partners should take action to stop these brutal attacks on lives."

In the east of Kharkiv, a five-story residential building was almost destroyed in the Kyiv district, and nearby houses were also damaged. Oleh Synyehubov, the military administrative head of the Kharkiv region, wrote on Telegram: "A five-story residential building in the Kyiv district of Kharkiv was almost completely destroyed by enemy attacks, and another residential building nearby was also damaged." Owing to the Russian air strikes, air raid alerts were activated throughout Ukraine at night, while the Polish Air Force took off aircraft near the Ukrainian border to protect its airspace.
