Foreign media: A Chinese military magazine said that the newly purchased Prachand armed helicopters of India were "no match" against China's Z-10 (Z-10) and performed poorly, especially in high-altitude operations.
The Indian Ministry of Defense approved the order for 156 Prachand helicopters in March, with a contract value exceeding $7.3 billion, aimed at high-altitude operations above 5000 meters, such as the China-India border and Kashmir region. Prachand is independently developed by India's state-owned enterprise HAL, made its first flight in 2010, delivered the first batch of 15 aircraft (10 for the Air Force and 5 for the Army) in 2022, and the new order is expected to be delivered between 2028 and 2033.
