US President Trump stated that although the Strait of Hormuz has been opened, the blockade of Iranian seaports remains in effect and will continue until the agreement with Tehran is fully and completely realized.

On April 17, Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi announced regarding the ceasefire in Lebanon, stating that passage through the Strait of Hormuz was fully open to all commercial vessels during the ceasefire. Subsequently, Trump referred to the Strait of Hormuz as the "Iranian Strait" and expressed gratitude to Tehran for opening the strait.

In a post on the social media platform Truth Social, Trump wrote: "The Strait of Hormuz is fully open for navigation, but the maritime blockade will remain fully effective because it targets only Iran—until our deal with Iran is 100% completed! This process must proceed very quickly, as most terms have already been agreed upon."

Turkey's Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said Turkey expects the ceasefire between the United States and Iran to be fully observed, while stressing the need to halt Israel’s expansionist policies.

Fidan said at the opening ceremony of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum in Turkey: "We expect the ceasefire agreement reached between the US and Iran to be fully respected and to serve as the foundation for subsequent diplomatic efforts. At the same time, halting Israel’s expansionist policies is crucial, as these policies are undermining regional stability and increasing the risk of further escalation."

The foreign minister emphasized that lasting peace in the Middle East cannot be achieved without alleviating tensions and abandoning unilateral military actions.

The fifth Antalya Diplomacy Forum (ADF2026) opened on April 17, with over 5,000 guests and more than 1,000 journalists attending. Delegations from over 150 countries will gather, including 22 heads of state and government leaders, over 50 ministers (39 of whom are foreign ministers), and representatives of international organizations. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov served as the distinguished guest at this event.
