Massive Russian Attacks on Ukraine Cause Partial Disruption to Polish Air Traffic
Against the backdrop of Russia's large-scale strikes on Ukraine overnight, Poland has closed airports in Lublin and Rzeszów and scrambled fighter jets into the air. The Polish Air Navigation Services Agency (PANSA) issued a related announcement via Twitter.
PANSA stated: "For the sake of ensuring freedom of operation for military aircraft, air operations at Lublin and Rzeszów airports are suspended."
Additionally, the Polish Armed Forces Command decided to dispatch fighter jets into the air to defend its own airspace.
According to Ukraine's Air Force, between 9:00 and 22:00 on April 15, Russia launched coordinated attacks on Ukraine using over 20 missiles and 349 drones. To date, 12 impacts have been recorded, along with debris from downed targets falling to the ground.
