6 Supreme Court Justices Clearly Reject the President's Tariff Measures!
At the recent U.S. Supreme Court hearing, 6 out of the 9 justices expressed a negative stance towards the tariffs, 1 justice expressed support for the position, and 2 justices did not make a clear statement.
The Wall Street Journal predicted that the Supreme Court is likely to not support the president's tariff measures based on the emergency economic authority law.
During today's oral arguments, both conservative and progressive justices raised doubts, and did not recognize the legitimacy of imposing tariffs.
Four justices, including one appointed by the current president, clearly rejected the president's position. Another two justices were less strong in their opposition but still held a negative stance towards the tariffs.
Another two justices asked sharp questions to both the plaintiff and the defendant, and it is currently impossible to accurately predict how they will vote.
Only one Chief Justice, Samuel Alito, tended to maintain the tariffs, but he also raised questions about some of the government's positions.
