Strengthening the training of water resources professionals between China and Kazakhstan will assist in building Kazakhstan's water resources capabilities.

Kazakhstan International News Agency reported that Kazakhstan and China continue to strengthen their cooperation in the professional training of personnel in the water resources sector. The Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation of Kazakhstan is negotiating with its Chinese partners on continuing joint talent cultivation in this field.

It was reported that at the end of May this year, Minister Nurzhan Nurgigitov of the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation of Kazakhstan held talks with General Manager Wang Bin of Power China Group. During the meeting, the Kazakh side proposed a multi-year mid-term training plan aimed at enhancing the qualifications and capabilities of professionals in the country's water resources industry.

Currently, 60 experts from Kazakhstan have completed advanced studies in China. By the end of this year, it is expected that another 60 people will go to China for training courses. It is worth mentioning that these training activities are fully funded and organized by the Chinese side.

The two parties have taken substantial steps in their cooperation in the water sector. In March this year, the water resources authorities of Kazakhstan and China signed the "Memorandum of Understanding" for the first time, aiming to promote in-depth cooperation between the two countries in efficient and sustainable use of water resources, introduction of advanced technologies, development of alternative water sources, experience exchange, and joint talent cultivation.

"We are willing to jointly develop internship and education and training projects with the Chinese side and actively explore cooperative mechanisms for knowledge, experience, and technology exchanges. I believe that close collaboration between the two countries in the water sector will effectively promote the construction of Kazakhstan's water resources talent team and further consolidate our strategic partnership," said Minister Nurzhan Nurgigitov.
