Another Option

As the summer vacation approaches, many Chinese immigrants are planning to take their elders and children back home for a trip during the break. However, air tickets during this period are quite expensive. This is when some "money-saving tricks" come in handy.

According to the latest report, starting from July 12, 2025, a new route will be launched in Vancouver. Canadian Chinese people can have another new option for returning home during the summer vacation! The ticket booking has been officially open since yesterday, and the prices are surprisingly low!

This new route is opened by T'way, a South Korean budget airline, providing direct flights from Vancouver to Seoul. It is temporarily seasonal and will run until October 25, 2025, with four weekly flights scheduled on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

All departure flights depart at 5:25 PM from Vancouver International Airport and arrive at Incheon International Airport in Seoul at 9:35 PM; return flights depart at 9:05 PM the next day from Seoul and arrive in Vancouver at 3:25 PM.

This is T'way's first entry into the North American market. To celebrate the opening of the new route, T'way is launching a series of limited-time promotional activities from May 26 to June 30, 2025.

The first promotion offers discounted tickets starting at $451, available for booking starting May 26, applicable for travel dates between July 12 and October 25.

In addition, T'way also provides coupons that save up to $40 on round-trip bookings between August 11 and October 25 (excluding October 8-11).

T'way is one of the fastest-growing budget airlines in South Korea, with most routes flying from South Korea to popular Asian destinations such as mainland China, Hong Kong, Japan, Vietnam, etc., focusing on high cost-effectiveness.

High cost-effectiveness is also one of the factors considered by many young people when purchasing tickets. For example, with this flight from Vancouver to Seoul, many people plan to take advantage of the discounted tickets, spend a few days in Korea first, then fly back home, completing two wishes in one journey.

T'way's official website shows that the price for Seoul to Wuhan starts at $128 in July; to Shenyang starts at $141.

Calculating this way, traveling via Seoul from Vancouver costs as little as $579. Even people from Toronto can consider it. Adding the cost of flights from Toronto to Vancouver, the total may still be around $700-$800.

In June and July, which are the peak periods for summer holidays, air tickets from Vancouver back home range around $1200. Currently, only Air Canada, China Airlines, Xiamen Airlines, Chengdu Airlines, and Hainan Airlines offer direct flights from Vancouver back home.

Today, the opening of the new route by the South Korean budget airline is not an unwise choice either.
