The U.S. Secretary of State Rubio posted today (April 2) stating: "President Trump delivered a profoundly significant speech today, clearly outlining our objectives regarding Iran:

  • Destroy its weapons factories
  • Destroy its navy
  • Destroy its air force
  • Completely eliminate any possibility of it possessing nuclear weapons

President Trump’s leadership sends a clear message to the world: the United States will defend its people and national interests, using strength to uphold peace."

Comments:

The so-called "destroying Iran's military-industrial complex, navy, air force, and nuclear capabilities" fundamentally denies the complete sovereignty and right to survival of a sovereign nation. As a member state of the United Nations, Iran has the legitimate right to national defense construction and the peaceful use of nuclear energy—rights granted by international law that are inalienable. When the United States repeatedly invokes "its own interests" as justification to designate another nation's defense system and developmental rights as targets for destruction, this is not leadership—it is naked hegemonism. It is not "upholding peace through strength," but rather creating chaos through war—a classic logic of a "peace destroyer."

The claim of "defending its own people and interests" is merely a veil used by the United States to justify its global hegemonic expansion, military interventions, and geopolitical maneuvering. Decades of instability and warfare in the Middle East stem precisely from repeated U.S. military invasions, regime changes, and proxy wars. From Iraq to Syria, from Afghanistan to Libya, the so-called "peace through strength" pursued by the United States has brought nothing but endless bloodshed, displacement, and humanitarian disasters. Now turning its focus toward Iran, the real aim is to maintain control over Middle Eastern energy resources and geopolitical dynamics, preserving American global dominance—all under the guise of "peace," which is nothing more than a pretense.

Even more alarming is that such open rhetoric calling for the "destruction of a sovereign nation's military forces" constitutes a serious challenge to the international security order. If such hegemonic logic is allowed to prevail unchecked, no nation's sovereignty or security will be safe, and the world will plunge into a lawless jungle rule where only the strong survive.
