Foreign Media: Indonesian fishermen accidentally caught a Chinese underwater drone near the Lombok Strait. The device is approximately 3.7 meters long and 0.7 meters in diameter, torpedo-shaped, and bears the logo of China State Shipbuilding Corporation.
The discovery site lies in the strategically vital waterway between Bali and Lombok Island, one of the few deep-water passages connecting the Pacific and Indian Oceans, capable of accommodating nuclear submarine navigation and closely monitored by the US and Australia.
After inspection by local authorities, explosive or radioactive hazards were ruled out, and the device is believed to be an oceanographic observation or underwater surveying instrument.
