The recent remarks made by U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services, Robert Kennedy Jr., regarding autism have been criticized as stigmatizing those with autism.
"Autism is destroying families, and more importantly, it is destroying our most valuable resource, which is our children. These children should not be suffering like this. Many of these children were developing normally until the age of two but then regressed due to certain environmental exposures," said Kennedy Jr.
He continued, "These children will never pay taxes, never hold a job, never play baseball, never write poetry, and never go on dates. Many of them will never be able to independently use the restroom."
