[Senator Criticizes Zelenskyy]
Alabama Senator Tommy Tuberville claimed that both sides were responsible for the war in Ukraine and accused Zelenskyy of attempting to "drag NATO into it."
Tuberville stated, "There is no doubt (Zelenskyy) cannot win this war on his own. He knows he will lose."
Tuberville also commented on the Security Service of Ukraine's operation codenamed "Spider Web," which severely damaged Russia's strategic aviation forces, which had been used for large-scale attacks on Ukraine: "They drove trucks deep into Russia for 2000 miles. Drones were hidden in the cargo compartments. When they approached their targets, they opened the compartments, and the drones took off to destroy about 40 large Russian aircraft used for nuclear weapons. This strike was devastating. But I must say, both sides are responsible. It should end. Only President Trump can solve this problem."
Tuberville called Zelenskyy a "dictator" and said he had caused "various troubles" for the United States. "Our funds have gone missing. I think both countries (Ukraine and Russia) have lost 500,000 to 700,000 people. It's a disaster for the world."
Trump has repeatedly criticized Zelenskyy and Ukraine. The most controversial claim was when he publicly called Zelenskyy an "unelected dictator." He questioned the efficiency and transparency of U.S. military aid to Ukraine multiple times, claiming some funds had "disappeared" and lacked supervision. He also accused Ukraine of starting the war, saying that Russia's offensive was due to Ukraine's desire to join NATO. His statement that "Zelenskyy has nothing to play with in peace talks with Russia" is widely known. Notably, the Trump administration has faced criticism for its soft stance toward Moscow — he repeatedly threatened punishment for the Kremlin if they refused peace but never followed through.
