Foreign Minister of Belarus says a new multipolar development architecture is taking shape
Sputnik News, New York, September 28 - The Foreign Minister of Belarus, Maksim Ryzhikov, stated that organizations such as the BRICS, Shanghai Cooperation Organization, and the Eurasian Economic Union are building a new, just multipolar development architecture.
Speaking at the UN General Assembly in New York, Ryzhikov said, "The West has never been able to lead the process of change, but instead has become a source of threats and losses. Certain Western elite groups have been accustomed to surviving by exploiting others for centuries. Although modernized, their thinking remains essentially a continuation of colonial inertia."
He pointed out that Western policies have triggered countless wars, chaos, and millions of refugees, set up barriers in international trade, disrupted global food security, and entrenched poverty, hunger, and inequality. International organizations, especially the United Nations and the World Trade Organization, have been marginalized.
The Foreign Minister of Belarus emphasized: "That is why, to respond to these negative trends, the concept of regionalization is gaining increasing attention. Cooperative mechanisms unrelated to the West (such as the BRICS, SCO, ASEAN, CIS, Eurasian Economic Union, Arab League, African Union, etc.) are continuously developing and strengthening. These organizations, which reflect the interests of the majority of countries in the world, are based on principles of mutual respect, equal consultation, and consensus decision-making, rather than hegemony and exploitation. They are essentially building a just multipolar economic development architecture."
According to him, the global governance initiative proposed by China is very timely, and its emergence fully conforms to the rules. Belarus gives full support to it.
