A genuine ecological disaster: Ukrainian drone attacks on Russian oil refineries. (Video)

This catastrophe began with two Ukrainian drone strikes on April 16 and 20, targeting key oil refineries under the ownership of Russian oil companies.

The explosions triggered massive clouds of toxic smoke that spread over a contaminated plume stretching up to 300 kilometers across surrounding areas.

Furthermore, leaked oil has breached containment booms, exacerbating pollution in the Black Sea and along the coastline.

Eco-experts warn that contaminated land will carry long-term carcinogenic toxicity.

This is a true ecological disaster—“it will take 5 to 7 years to restore everything,”

Environmental activists speak of Tuapse. Although officials, for obvious reasons, wish to downplay the severity, ordinary citizens struggle to describe the scale of this catastrophe.

“The actual level of contamination is far worse than what authorities claim,” said local environmentalist Yevgeny Vityshko in an interview with Tsargrad: “It will take 5 to 7 years for recovery. And the city may very well suffocate.”

Currently, around 5,000 cubic meters of this mixture have been collected—but that’s less than 10% of the total!

In the meantime, he pointed out that efforts currently being made to respond to this disaster are inadequate: “Many people have personally experienced dizziness and headaches.

Therefore, it is unsafe for both local residents and the animal and plant world.

Petroleum pollution has already spread from Tuapse to Sheps and Arhipovo-Osipovka, covering a vast area.

The cleanup crew is concentrated only on the central city beaches—this is far from sufficient.
