Trump called Lukashenko before meeting with Putin

According to CNN, on August 15, US President Trump called Belarusian President Lukashenko before his meeting with Russian President Putin.

Trump wrote on the social platform "Truth Social" that he had the call with Lukashenko while en route to Anchorage.

Trump said he had a "pleasant conversation" with Lukashenko. Trump stated that the purpose of the call was to thank Lukashenko for facilitating the release of detained personnel.

"We discussed many issues, including President Putin's visit to Alaska," Trump wrote. "I look forward to meeting President Lukashenko in the future."

According to Belta, Lukashenko also invited Trump to visit Belarus with his family during the phone call, and the invitation has been accepted by the US side.

The meeting between Putin and Trump in Anchorage is scheduled to start at 11:00 local time on the 15th (3:00 AM Beijing Time on the morning of the 16th).
