Poland impounded a flight bound for Russia carrying Boeing aircraft tires.
The Polish National Tax Administration said on Monday that Polish customs had seized five tons of civilian Boeing aircraft tires that were originally intended to be transported via Belarus and Russia, noting that such goods are covered by the EU sanctions measures.
Since Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, Western countries have imposed wide-ranging sanctions on Russia and its ally Belarus. This includes Airbus and Boeing halting services and parts supply, as well as canceling regular maintenance support for aircraft.
