Musk is about to announce his withdrawal! He calls himself "tired of attacks from the left wing."
According to Fox Business Channel, Tesla CEO Elon Musk may indicate when he will leave the "Department of Government Efficiency" (DOGE) during the earnings conference call after the latest quarterly results are released on Tuesday. Previously, Musk and the White House denied the reports that he would leave the organization, but insisted that his tenure there was temporary.

The Washington Post: Musk wants to exit the political circle because he is "fed up with attacks from the left."
According to The Washington Post, Elon Musk plans to leave his position in the government because he is tired of what he considers a series of malicious and immoral attacks from the left. It is unclear when Musk will resign as the head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE); his special government employee status will expire at the end of next month. A source told The Washington Post that Musk believes that even if he leaves, his work at DOGE will not be weakened because department employees have already established a solid presence in multiple federal agencies.
According to Fox's latest report, Musk may indicate when he will leave the "Department of Government Efficiency" (DOGE) during the earnings conference call after the latest quarterly results are released.
However, speculation about Musk's possible departure also comes at a time when his influence within the government seems to be waning. Last week, The New York Times reported that Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent complained about Musk appointing preferred candidates without his consent, leading to the replacement of the acting IRS commissioner. Some officials were also dissatisfied with Musk for failing to coordinate with other cabinet members while pushing for spending cuts.
Meanwhile, Wedbush Securities analyst Dan Ives said that Musk should leave his government post and refocus on Tesla, which he believes is facing a "red alert" moment.
"Musk needs to step back from government affairs and significantly reduce his involvement in DOGE, refocusing on serving as Tesla's full-time CEO," wrote Ives in a report sent to clients on Sunday, according to Bloomberg. "Tesla is Musk, and Musk is Tesla... Anyone who thinks the damage Musk has caused to the brand is not real should talk to car buyers in the Americas, Europe, and Asia. You will change your mind."
"Tesla has unfortunately become a political symbol of the Trump administration/DOGE worldwide," Ives added, noting that due to Musk's actions related to DOGE, the company may face permanent demand losses of 15% to 20% among potential future customers.
The Washington Post also disclosed that some officials refused to comply with Musk's directive - requiring federal employees to send an email each week listing five things they accomplished the previous week. Musk warned that failure to send emails would be considered resignation.
However, just two days after the order was issued on February 22, the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) noted in a briefing for human resources officials that this requirement was voluntary, and failure to send emails would not be considered resignation.
The email also mentioned that the office had no intention of processing the content of these emails.
Currently, different government agencies implement this policy inconsistently; some no longer require sending emails; a few departments still enforce this rule; others require it but do not follow up to check compliance or track employee feedback. Employees who continue to send emails often have repetitive content each week or treat it as a joke.
