Media: U.S.-Iran Ceasefire Made Possible by Vance and China

AP reporter Faranush Amiri quoted a diplomatic source saying the ceasefire between the United States and Iran was made possible thanks to the involvement of U.S. Vice President Vance and Chinese mediation.

Previously, President Trump stated he agreed to suspend strikes against Iran for two weeks, emphasizing that the ceasefire would be reciprocal. Subsequently, Iran's Supreme National Security Council announced that Tehran would begin negotiations with the United States in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, on Friday, April 10.

Amiri wrote on social platform X: "The last-minute agreement between the U.S. and Iran was made possible by two unexpected participants: Vice President Vance and China."

She said Washington urgently invited Vance to join the talks late Tuesday night, while China played a key role in convincing Iran to accept the terms of the agreement.

Currently, Vance is on an official visit to Hungary ahead of the country’s parliamentary elections. According to CNN, if conditions permit, he may next travel to Pakistan to participate in negotiations with Iran.
