Korean Media: Breaking 1 Million Units, Another Milestone for China's Independent Semiconductor Development!

On June 22, South Korean media outlet Seoul Economic Daily published an article stating that the flagship desktop processor from Chinese semiconductor design company Loongson Microelectronics has surpassed 1 million units in shipments, accelerating China's self-reliant semiconductor development process.

Analysts believe that China's domestically produced central processing units (CPUs) have moved beyond mere testing and distribution stages, entering a comprehensive commercialization phase.

Loongson Microelectronics stated, "The 3A6000 processor is a desktop PC chip developed entirely in-house. Its performance is comparable to Intel's desktop CPUs released in 2020."

Last year, Loongson Microelectronics reported revenue of 635.3 million RMB, a 26% increase compared to the previous year. Net losses decreased from 625.3 million RMB to 455.1 million RMB.

China's strategy for semiconductor localization extends beyond processors. Recently, the Shanghai Institute for Artificial Intelligence announced it has successfully achieved stable production of high-quality KrF photoresist resin using an AI decision-making system and automated synthesis technology. KrF photoresist is a core material in semiconductor manufacturing, long dominated by a few foreign companies. However, China is now striving to narrow technological gaps across the entire semiconductor supply chain—not only in finished chips but also in raw materials and equipment.
