Venezuelan Foreign Minister: Venezuela Wins Victory at the UN Security Council Meeting

Venezuelan Foreign Minister Ivan Gil stated on January 5th via social media that Venezuela has won a victory at the United Nations Security Council meeting, as the international community acknowledged that the US attack on Venezuela violates international law principles.

Gil pointed out that Venezuela's position has received support from international platforms. He wrote, "In the Security Council, truth once again prevailed. Venezuela has won an obvious legal victory."

Gil emphasized that the U.S. actions were classified as acts of aggression. "The international community acknowledges that the attack launched on January 3rd was a violation of international law, contravened the UN Charter, humanitarian law, and human rights law, and was also a direct infringement on the immunity of the current head of state."

He said Venezuela will continue to defend its sovereignty.
