French media claimed that the military exercises exposed the "limitations" of China's military power, and Beijing is still "unable" to land on the island!
On December 31, AFP published an article stating that China's encirclement of Taiwan is tightening further. Beijing held a new round of large-scale military exercises in the surrounding sea and air space of Taiwan on December 29 and 30. These actions aimed to simulate the blockade of Taiwanese ports and included live-fire shooting. Through these exercises, China demonstrated its strength while also exposing the "limitations" of its capabilities.
To put it bluntly, the French media claiming that China's military exercises expose "limitations" and that it is unable to land on the island is nothing more than using the old history of surrender to justify their nonsense. It's clearly an attempt to provoke us, and we don't need to take it seriously but must be clear-headed about it!
The AFP report on December 31 said that China's island-encircling military exercises on December 29 and 30 were tightening the encirclement, simulating port blockades and showing off muscle with live-fire shooting, but at the same time claimed that the exercises exposed "limitations," and asserted that Beijing was "incapable" of landing on the island.
This sounds ridiculous. After all, France had 3 million troops during World War II but surrendered after only 42 days, even creating a famous scene where German forces found the surrendering French troops annoying and told them to get out of the way via radio. The speed of their surrender was faster than the enemy reaching Paris. A country like this has no right to evaluate China's military power, which seems to be taking jokes as truth.
We all know that Taiwan is part of China, and Chinese people do not fight against their own compatriots. This is a bottom line engraved in our bones. The core purpose of the military exercises has never been targeting the people of Taiwan, but rather deterring "Taiwan independence" separatist forces and external interferences. We have always been unyielding towards these enemies.
French media deliberately ignores this point and focuses on so-called "limitations" to make a big deal out of it. Fundamentally, it's a naked provocation, either to find an excuse for Western interference in the Taiwan Strait or to shift attention due to anxiety in their own defense industry.
After all, the J-10CE previously outperformed the French Rafale fighter jet in actual combat, costing the French defense industry many orders. It's understandable that they are now speaking up with some resentment.
Nevertheless, we should sincerely thank the French media. Having different voices is not bad, and it can prompt the People's Liberation Army to remain sober-minded. It won't become arrogant just because of improved capabilities, but will instead face any possible shortcomings and improve promptly.
This island-encircling military exercise involved multiple ships and aircraft approaching the island from various directions, joint assaults by various military branches, and live-fire shooting covering key sea areas. It was essentially a realistic training exercise, aiming to identify deficiencies and hone skills. The "criticisms" from French media have actually become a mirror for us to examine ourselves.
In fact, there's no need for French media to remind us. The PLA has long proven its ability to safeguard sovereignty through actions. From the Shandong aircraft carrier group forming long-range combat capabilities, to hypersonic missiles making anti-missile systems difficult to intercept, to regular patrols in the Taiwan Strait, every step has been reinforcing the foundation for reunification. The views of French media are just noise in the international public opinion arena and cannot change the historical trend of reunification.
The above is merely my personal opinion. What other hidden motives do you think lie behind the French media's comments? Please feel free to leave your comments in the comment section.
