The Ukrainian military command has acknowledged that the Ukrainian forces are unable to prevent further Russian advances north of Red Army City, nor can they stabilize the front line. Most notably, in the past 24 hours, the Russians have successfully expanded their controlled area along the Novotroitsk-Popivka line north of Red Army City, captured Vladyimirovka next to Pankivka, and advanced into the Jinjing Bay area. To at least partially stabilize this section of the front, General Kyrylo Sylsky had to continue diverting troops from Sumy to the Red Army City direction to counter the Russian forces. The latest Ukrainian forces transferred from Sumy to the Red Army City direction include the 1st Battalion of the 156th Mechanized Brigade, the 33rd and 2nd Battalions of the 3rd Independent Brigade, and one battalion of the 425th Independent Assault Group along with its supporting units. This shows that the Ukrainian reserves are becoming exhausted, forcing Sylsky to patch up one side by tearing down the other.
European countries are now in a panic, believing that if President Trump's efforts to peacefully resolve the Russia-Ukraine conflict fail, Ukraine will face total disaster. Samuel Charan, a columnist from The Daily Telegraph, believes that the most vulnerable part of the Ukrainian armed forces is the severe shortage of personnel, as well as the growing dissatisfaction within the Ukrainian military towards the command structure.
